The Oakridge-Westfir Chamber of Commerce provides its members with many key opportunities for visibility and recognition. The Chamber´s newsletter reaches key business leaders here and the surrounding area; and the visitors map is distributed to all chamber members, motels, hotels, Realtors, moving companies, and new residents and businesses. The Chamber offers its members the opportunity to sponsor a variety of community and special events. Chamber members are also eligible to place brochures and business cards at the Middle Fork Ranger Dist Office 4 miles West of Oakridge and at our visitor center in the Green Waters Park rest area that is open all year 7 days a week, where we accommodate many walk-in visitors each month. We are also promoting our community on the web where even more opportunities exist to be exposed.

What is it?
The Oakridge-Westfir Area Chamber of Commerce is a voluntary organization of over 70 area businesses who have joined together to advance the commercial, financial, industrial and civic interests of Oakridge, Westfir, and the surrounding area. The Chamber is a clearinghouse, a public relations firm, a legislative representative at local, state and national levels of government, and information bureau and a research and promotion agency for our community.
How does it work?
Action groups – called committees, are the backbone of our Chamber. They involve active members working together, studying problems, seeking solutions and exploring new ideas. Busy men and women give their time, talents and energies to help our community realize its potential.
How is it funded?
The Chamber is supported primarily by the financial investment of its members. Any business or individual wishing to play a role in Oakridge and Westfir’s growth and development is eligible for membership. Investments are determined according to classification of business and number of employees. The chamber is also funded in part by support of the City of Oakridge thought room tax funds from Lane County. Chamber projects such as the map, recreation and DVD projects are funded by members buying ad’s with the project and when possible expanded with grant funds. Chamber membership is an investment in the Oakridge-Westfir area.
How is it organized?
The membership elects a representative group known as a Board of Directors to direct the affairs of the organization. The group formulates policy and accepts responsibility for a properly financed and managed organization. The Board of Directors is responsible to the membership of the organization. The Board of Directors has hired an Executive Director. The Executive Director is responsible for the management of the organization, the hiring and supervision of any additional staff and the implementation of program policy. The Chamber's Bylaws are in a PDF file that is downloadable at right. If you cannot open it, go to adobe.com and download the free version of Acrobat. This will enable you to open the document.
